Parallels Desktop 10 is like a sports car: sleek and packed with high-tech conveniences, but a bit fussy to work with and occasionally liable to mechanical glitches. The two best OS X apps for running Windows or Windows apps in a "virtual machine" are VMware Fusion 7 ($69.99) and Parallels Desktop.
